Welcome to East Rapids Elementary!

The beginning of the school year and coming to a new building brings many questions and worries, we hope this document will help answer them. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call the school office at 218-327-5880.

FAQs:
Our starting and dismissal times are as follows:
Morning Bell: 8:25 am Dismissal: M, T, Th, F – 3:00 pm W – 2:25 pm
Bus students arrive at the school between 8:00 and 8:25 am.
Need to request bussing? Please visit www.isd318.org > Education Services > Transportation.
*Front doors are unlocked at 7:50 am.

Please remember- that the front doors will be unlocked until 8:25 am and after 3:00 pm (2:25 pm on Wednesdays). All other times you may enter by using the door access system on the wall to the right in the entryway.
 AM Drop Off Time and Location- You may drop off your children for school starting at 7:50 am in the front of the building. If you plan on walking them up to the doors please park in the parking lot and use the crosswalk to walk up to the doors, otherwise please use the drop off lane for a more “drop and go” experience.
Parents walking students to class in AM- due to safety, parents may walk their student into the vestibule but no further. This maintains that only permitted guests are in our building while children are getting their morning tasks completed.
Breakfast- Breakfast will be served from 8:00am-8:20am. If your child needs to eat breakfast please ensure they are dropped off with enough time to eat before class or ride the bus.
Attendance- If your child will be gone from school please call the main office at 218-327-5880 by 9:30 to report the reason for their absence.
End of day change of plans – permission is needed (phone or email) from a parent. For student safety we must hear from an adult in order to make changes to the end of day plan. This includes the student being picked up by someone other than a parent or staying after instead of riding the bus, etc.
If your child is picked up early from school- you must inform the school so we can have them ready for you. Please try to schedule appointments after school if at all possible.
Parent Portal- Parent portal is the interfase ISD318 uses to provide teacher information, grades, report cards, attendance, and where you can update your contact info. If you would like to register for an account please go to www.isd318.org > Families > Campus Parent Access Request
School Supply List- You may view our school supply list by going to the district website at www.isd318.org, school website (get there from district website), or our Facebook page (search “East Rapids Elementary” on Facebook).

You may bring your school supplies- to be dropped off at our Fall Open House Thursday,August 28 from 3:30-5:30pm

When sending money to school,- please put it in an envelope with your child’s name, grade and amount of money and purpose written on the outside. This eliminates confusion and if the envelope is lost the owner can easily be found.
Student belongings – shoes, jackets, snow pants, lunchbox, etc. Please write their name on the item with a permanent marker. This will help us find the owner and to keep the Lost & Found as empty as possible. Please do not send valuables such as Pokemon cards, handheld gaming devices, etc to school as they are a distraction and are easily lost and sometimes stolen.
